WHY RAMARA PHYSIOTHERAPY?

unnamed (8).jpg

My goal at Ramara Physiotherapy is to restore your function, reduce your pain and ensure your rehabilitation is effective, efficient and stress-free, all while keeping treatment numbers and home exercises low

Since becoming a physiotherapist after finishing my degrees in 2013 I have been practicing in a private practice setting, and I quickly found myself dissatisfied with modality-based, passive care.  I found the McKenzie MDT system in 2015 and my practice changed dramatically; I was able to give my patients considerably better results in a fraction of the time, and the autonomy to help themselves.

The McKenzie Method is a system of musculoskeletal care that focuses on patient empowerment and self-treatment by focusing on what the patient needs to do to get better, rather than what passive treatments the practitioner decides to perform.  I became one of the few credentialed McKenzie MDT clinicians north of the GTA in 2018 and have never looked back.  In 2021 I attained my Outcomes Accountable Clinician certification with IMC in Tallahassee, Florida, and in 2023 I finished my education to become an Advanced Practice Provider within the province of Ontario for the Low Back Pain Rapid Access Clinic.  I provide this program to the Muskoka and Ramara regions of Ontario which takes two days of my week; I work in my private practice two to three days per week.

I provide one-on-one therapy only, no assistants or modalities used.  Each treatment includes ongoing reassessment and education, and manual therapy as needed.

**Please note: it is very difficult for me to take on new patients at this time.
